Your First Hour on Emberwild

Just joined? Welcome, trainer! Here's how to spend your first hour so you get a strong start without feeling lost. Follow along step by step, or skip around, it's up to you.

Start in the Laboratory

You spawn inside the Laboratory in Emberwild town. Three professors work here, and it's worth saying hi before heading out.

Professor Marvin gives the Daily Quest.
Professor Jackie runs the General Store.
Professor Derek gives Daily Missions.

Choose Your Starter

Press C to open the starter menu and pick your first Pokémon. You can choose a starter from any region. Don't overthink it, you'll catch plenty more along the way.

Collect Your Starter Gear

You'll receive a Backpack, Poké Balls, Pokédex, Trainer Card, Golden Hoe for land claiming and the Emberwild Guidebook.

Find the Waystone

Head to the Waystone on the east side of town and activate it before exploring. Once unlocked, you can always Waystone back to town.

Catch Your First Pokémon

Leave town and look for wild Pokémon. Battle them to weaken them, then throw a Poké Ball. Different biomes have different Pokémon, so explore!

Claim Your Land

Use the Golden Hoe from your starter gear. Right-click one corner of your land, then right-click the opposite corner.

Use /flan menu for your claim options.

Know What Happens If You Die

Keep Inventory is off. You'll drop your items when you die, but your backpack stays with you. Keep your valuable items inside it.

Join the Community

Ask questions in #help. If you need staff assistance, open a ticket in #support.

Quick Tips
Unlock the Waystone before exploring.
Keep valuables inside your backpack.
Check all three professors every day.
Read the Emberwild Guidebook.
Stay near town until you have a small team and Poké Balls.
