How Legendaries Work
Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are summoned rather than randomly encountered.
Find their monument, collect the required item, use it at the correct location, then battle and catch the Pokémon.
Find the Monuments
Monuments are hidden throughout the world, on land, islands and even deep inside the Nether.
The Arc Phone's Legendary Tracking app can point you toward a monument when you have its required key item.
The Arc Phone
The Arc Phone gives you access to apps including Quests, Key Items, Wiki and Legendary Tracking. Tracking requires the appropriate key item for the monument you're searching for.
Examples of the Hunt
Lake Guardians: proof items.
Regis: golem keys.
Dialga & Palkia: Red Chain at Spear Pillar.
Latios & Latias: special treats at Southern Island.
Raikou, Entei & Suicune: treats at Burned Tower.
Lugia: Vortex Stone.
Ho-Oh: Rainbow Feather.
Heatran: Magma Stone.
Mew: Old Sea Map.
Prepare for the Battle
Bring a strong team, plenty of Poké Balls, healing items and food.
Set a Waystone nearby before summoning. Remember that Keep Inventory is off, so keep valuable items inside your backpack.
